Rules | Polices

Game Rules

NCAA rules except for the following:

  • 6v6 including a goalie.
  • Games are two 15:00-minute half's.
  • No timeouts. 
  • Running clock, managed by a central horn.
  • Goalies initiate play after goals are scored.
  • No long poles. 
  • Face-offs occur only at the start of each half.
  • Players can not release into the face-off circle until possession is called by the official. 
  • No offsides, except goalies crossing midline, a field player must stay back.
  • Substitutions are made on the fly.
  • No clearing counts or back court rules.
  • Tied games will be given another 3 minutes. First goals wins.  If it is still tied after 3 minutes, it will go down as a tie.  
  • Championship games will be extended until there is a winner.
  • Change of possession with shots that miss the goal.
  • Offense will retain possession if the ball hits the goalie or goalies stick before going out of bounds. 
  • 30-second shot clock for all middle and high school divisions.

Championship

Championship Seeding:

  • Divisions of 8 teams or more - Top team from each pool will advance.
  • Divisions of 7 teams or less - Top two teams from the division will advance. 
  • 1st/record, 2nd/Goal Differential (Goals Scored - Goals Against), 3rd/Goals against, 4th/Coin Flip. 


Inclement Weather

  • Lightening - play will be suspended immediately and players, coaches and spectators will be asked to leave the fields and return to cars. 
  • Play will resume 20 minutes after the last lightening strike  determined by the Lightening Detection System or Tournament Staff.
  • Games that have played through halftime will be final.  Games interrupted before half will play two 8:00 minute quarters.
  • Subsequent games may consist of one 16 minute running time period until games are back on schedule. 
  • Once games are back on schedule, we will return to normal game time.

Refunds

  • Refunds will be issued if the tournament is canceled. 
  • Player refunds of 50% for teams that withdraw from the tournament. 
  • No player refunds for teams that withdraw within two weeks of the event. 
  • Free agents will be refunded in full if we are unable to place the player on a team.
  • No refund will be issued if the tournament is shortened in part for any reason, including inclement weather. 
  • No refund will be issued for players or teams removed from the tournament for behavior (this can include player, coach or spectator behavior)
